Bula!!! If you have been on a holiday to Fiji you will understand “Bula” and all it represents! The Fijians are such beautiful people and they alone provide an atmosphere that you can’t find anywhere else in the world.
I have done a lot of travelling in my life, and Fiji is still one of my favourite places to visit. My last trip to Fiji (No.8!), I did solo with my two daughters aged 3 and 6. I must admit I was a bit apprehensive travelling alone with two young children, but there was no need to be. I had forgotten how wonderful the Fijians are – it was a breeze! They had the kids and luggage on and off cars, buses and boats before I could blink, it was a fantastic holiday for all of us and we are looking forward to trip No.9!
On our most recent trip we stayed on Denarau Island at the Sofitel Fiji Resort & Spa. We stayed in a family room which was great, it had its own area with bunk beds and computer for the kids, and was at ground level so was very easy for coming and going to the pool.
I can’t fault the Sofitel Fiji, it’s a beautiful hotel and has everything you would expect from a 5 star property. The food was great, staff attentive, grounds just beautiful, shops, great kids club, spa, you name it! The pool is fantastic, it is a big pool so even though we were there in school holidays it didn’t feel crowded.
One of the lovely things about Denarau Island is that you also have the Wyndham Resort, Raddison Blu Resort, Sheraton Fji Resort, Sheraton Villas, The Westin, Sofitel Fiji Resort & Spa and the Fiji Beach Resort & Spa (managed by Hilton) all along the beachfront so it is easy to jump on the Bula Bus and visit each resort if you feel like a change of scene.
Also close by is Port Denarau Marina, the Bula Bus comes regularly and in a few minutes you can be at the Marina where there is even more restaurants, shops and more to explore!
So as you can probably tell, I love Fiji. It is a destination that is great for all age groups, all situations and caters to everyones needs. It’s a holiday where you can go and do nothing but relax, or if you like to be active you can spend your days out and about exploring everything on offer. Book yourself a trip – you won’t regret it!
Vinaka!!
